Before I purchased an Attack 3 I knew that the next itch would be for rudder pedals because the Attack 3 doesn't have twist function. Incidentally, I also wanted to have a steering wheel for some driving action. The logical choice regarding availability here is the Logitech (again) wheels but they feel too expensive for me considering that I may tire eventually of using it. I fondly remember the good old days of PC gaming. Playing X-wing, Tie Fighter, Advanced Tactical Fighters were among my most memorable experiences.
Back in the day I had a Microsoft 3D Pro joystick, it had optical sensors, rudder twist, throttle and hat switch. It had everything you needed for these games. But then they phased out the gameport connector :-( .

It has been a while since my last post. Here is a series of reviews...
After 3+ years my Philips DVP3360K died a violent death. I was going to watch a movie one night and when I turned on the AVR power the thing just popped loudly. When I opened it I saw that an IC exploded (which was located in the PSU section). I tried to fix it (even replaced the PSU with working one from another ernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-76118774769243739032010-09-24T11:20:00.011+08:002010-10-08T16:31:54.757+08:00The Lord Jesus Christ's Birthday
It's that time of the year again... the "ber" months. Already malls are playing Christmas carols and displaying all sorts of decorations for the season. I feel sad for them because the Lord Jesus was NOT really born on the 25th of December. At the time of this writing, we are within a few days of His actual birth anniversary. Like I wrote in a post last year, I believe His birth was during the ernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-50089509687620528432010-07-29T14:16:00.004+08:002010-07-29T14:29:30.091+08:00Finished reading my BibleLast July 24, 2010 at 7:34AM Philippine time (a Sabbath), I finished reading through my KJV Bible. It's the first time I read the Scriptures from cover to cover. I believe it took me approximately 2 years and 4 months to finish my study. It was an eye opening experience. My intent was to dig deep in the Bible and have some of my lingering questions answered.

It's less than 20 hours to 2010. For the past month or so Filipinos have been celebrating the holiday season like there's no tomorrow (seems like everyone has lots of money these days). Tonight, I expect another display of fireworks firepower that will rival a small war. The sonic fury and visual display from a fireworks-crazy nation is sure to terrorize small animals once more ;-) I know that ernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-9452327392375218982009-12-07T08:39:00.004+08:002009-12-09T15:39:53.298+08:00Our food is killing us!
I spend hours in the supermarket, more than any other person I know. It's not that I just like hanging out in the air conditioned mall - it's because I read product labels carefully. I also observe the buying habits of Filipinos. I noticed that the majority never bother knowing what they are ingesting. They just buy what's cheap and tastes good. I'm a movie buff. I love watching flicks at the theater and with my home setup. My family's taste may not be the same as the general public (or critics) so keep in mind that this is my personal opinion and nothing more. Our likes range from loud, effects-filled movies to dramas and everything in between. Movies released in 2009 that are not on the list were not enjoyable to me and my ernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-3830643516530607012009-12-01T06:04:00.013+08:002010-09-24T13:24:58.612+08:00Christmas: Commercialized and Pagan?
It's the first day of December. We are again bombarded by reminders from merchants peddling their wares, each one trying to get a slice of our holiday budgets. From TV ads, to holiday music in malls, we are constantly reminded that to be happy this season we must spend, give, and receive. Although there's nothing blatantly wrong with this, businesses must make a profit after all, but I am ernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-16808507155675035732009-11-20T04:25:00.008+08:002009-12-01T04:38:02.673+08:00Philips DVP3360K Upscaling DVD Player Review
After nearly five years, my sleek, slot-loading Philips DVP5100k DVD player died. It just stopped reading discs one day. It was a sad day because the player was so customizable. You can even flash it with modified firmware that adds many features (you may have to run the site thru a translator).
But it was also a happy day because I get to buy new gear ;-) One thing's certain, it would have toernelshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00754969977463289660noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5660660497115762778.post-45976536467062763902009-11-19T08:39:00.014+08:002009-12-01T10:41:51.481+08:00I felt like a tech dinosaurA couple of days after my 35th birthday, I had nothing to do. Thoughts of one's mortality touch the mind at times like these. What have I contributed to mankind's progress? What will future generations think of me? Oh deep thought... I always wanted to share my experiences to others but was too lazy to update my past websites. What am I to do?
